TREASURE GOD LIGHT

A lamp for prosperity

A lamp offered to the wealth-bestowing deities — for prosperity grounded in virtue.

01 — THE OFFERING

The Treasure God Light is offered in connection with the wealth-bestowing deities of the Vajrayana tradition — most often the five forms of Jambhala (黃, 黑, 紅, 白, 綠) and other deities whose function is the increase of resources, livelihood, and the conditions for virtuous activity. The lamp burns before the wealth deity’s representation as a sustained offering and a quiet prayer for the donor’s material wellbeing.

In the Buddhist understanding, wealth is not opposed to spiritual practice. It is a karmic fruit and also a tool — the resources that allow generosity, family support, study, retreat, and the patronage of the Dharma. The lamp is therefore not a transaction; the practitioner offers it as an act of devotion, trusting that the wealth deity will support the conditions for continued generosity and virtuous activity.
