Purification & Home Protection

Blessing of the home, place of work, or land — clearing obstacles, inviting harmony.

01 — PURIFYING A SPACE

Purification — 修法淨宅 — is the Vajrayana practice of clearing and blessing a physical space, whether a home, a place of work, or a piece of land. The temple master brings the lineage’s ritual methods to spaces where families or businesses wish to clear lingering disturbance and invite continuous blessing.

Spaces accumulate. A home where difficult events occurred, a workplace marked by long discord, land with unclear history — each can hold residual influences. Buddhist understanding regards this not as superstition but as the natural consequence of karmic imprints left on physical environments, and the practice transforms them through ritual invocation, mantra, and the dedication of merit.

WHAT IT ADDRESSES

Clearing the unseen

Lingering disturbance

Residual influences a home or workplace can hold after difficult events or long discord.

Karmic imprints

The marks that thoughts, actions, and events leave on a physical environment over time.

Obstacles to harmony

Obstruction cleared by wrathful protectors; blessing established by peaceful deities.

THE PROCESS

Discuss your situation

Inquire with the temple to discuss whether the practice suits your circumstance — and whether the master visits the space or performs the rite at the temple on its behalf.

The ritual is performed

The master invokes specific deities, recites purification mantras, and offers incense and consecrated substances. Family members or business owners may be present.

Blessing is dedicated

Merit is formally dedicated for the wellbeing of all who occupy the space. Families may sustain it with a home altar, regular attendance, and periodic dedications.
